In Kuala Lumpur's mature neighbourhoods, many of the finest plots hold a house that has served its time. Further afield, Shah Alam, Bukit Jelutong and Putrajaya offer generous new land for a family estate.    01 · Kuala Lumpur

   Damansara Heights

   Also known as Bukit Damansara, this is one of Kuala Lumpur's most settled neighbourhoods: winding streets, deep gardens and older bungalows on sloping land. For many families here, the most meaningful residence is one rebuilt on ground they already know.

   02 · Kuala Lumpur

   Bukit Tunku

   Historically known as Kenny Hills, Bukit Tunku is a green, steeply wooded enclave close to the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Its large, sloping plots reward residences that work with the hillside rather than against it.

   03 · Kuala Lumpur

   Bangsar & TTDI

   Bangsar and Taman Tun Dr Ismail are among Kuala Lumpur's best-loved established neighbourhoods, each with a lively centre and calmer residential streets beyond. Here a new residence must feel generous within a defined plot, and be a good neighbour on a lived-in street.

   Ampang & Ukay Heights

   On the eastern edge of the city, Ampang and Ukay Heights rise towards forested ridges. Established bungalows on generous, often sloping land make this a natural setting for a garden residence with room to breathe.

   Shah Alam & Bukit Jelutong

   Shah Alam, the state capital of Selangor, and its township of Bukit Jelutong offer something increasingly rare near Kuala Lumpur: generous residential plots in planned, green surroundings. Here a family can build new, from the ground up, with space for gardens, water and several generations.

   06 · Federal Territory of Putrajaya & Selangor

   Putrajaya & Cyberjaya

   Putrajaya, the federal administrative centre, and neighbouring Cyberjaya were planned from the outset around lakes, parks and wide avenues. Their residential precincts offer generous new plots, some near the water, for a residence shaped by light and reflection.
